OUR STORY

CHRIS GRAFF

Once upon a time, Chris Graff found himself sitting on an Adirondack Chair while visiting Governors Island in NYC. As a professional in efficient manufacturing, he realized that in order to make that very chair, milk jugs had to have been collected in the USA, shipped around the world for processing, and then shipped back to the US to be assembled. He thought, “Why don't we tighten the loop, save money, save energy and create local jobs?” And so he created the NYC Curb-to-Market Challenge...

BARENT ROTH

Sustainable designer and founder of Anthropocene.Design, Barent Roth, was selected as Co-Winner of the 2019 NYC Curb-to-Market Challenge. His proposal was a 100% solar powered MicroFactory capable of turning single use plastic into well-designed products all within a portable, repurposed shipping container. Chris then partnered with Barent to bring the project to life, thus becoming co-founders, and naming their start up company-

Circular Economy Manufacturing.
